Thackray Museum of Medicine commissioned us to develop activities connected to wellbeing, in response to their exhibits. We were fascinated by the connection between our gut and our mental health, so together with families visiting we built a SUPER GUT of microbes designed to impact on our mental health and wellbeing. We had some fascinating conversations about the connection between your brain and your gut, and how to represent abstract concepts like emotions and feeling with colours and shapes.
Visitors also made their own happy zines by thinking about all the things that combine to make us happy and how happiness is often portrayed narrowly to us by society and the media.
