The Art Doctors form our core group, working as part of a loosely connected collective of about 15 people. Together, we collaborate on projects, exchange ideas, and make appearances online or at various events.

"The Art Doctors enjoy failing, so I love to see what happens when things go wrong creatively and we have to work out what
to do next."
Favourite Activity
Two minute mini-sculptures with everyday objects in your house. I love how easy it is to find materials and create a work of art without really thinking about it.

I’m a visual artist and love patterns and geometry, working with mixed media, collage, drawing and painting, and exploring the balance between order and chaos. I also work with Bradford Producing Hub as Visual Arts Instigator and as a producer of community arts projects.

Liz Stirling
"As an Art Doctor I have
got to meet so many interesting creative people and have fun with them."
Favourite Activity
Getting people to hang objects on friends and family and calling them living art works.

For me being creative is all about having fun, playing around with materials and making things together to connect with people. I also like gathering and collaging all sorts of things together to see what new things emerge. The rest of the time I teach art students at Leeds Beckett University and hope they also have fun.

"I love that Art Doctors approach art with freedom, fun, playfulness, even silliness, which taps into elements kids still have but adults may have forgotten."
Favourite Activity
Anything that involves crazy art-engaging stunts in galleries! However, if I am trying to be sensible... Art Chats and writing poems in response to art, I can do all day long, forever!

I’ve been involved in performing arts and creativity all of my life through dance, drama, writing, photography, music and filmmaking. I’m a passionate advocate for improving health and wellbeing through the natural creative energy we have all been gifted with as humans. I love connecting with people from everywhere and hearing and learning from their stories; everybody has a story and some kind of art in their heart.

Phil Moody
"To be an Art Doctor is to conjure a space, a moment, where people are given permission to invent, create and play. This is a joy."
Favourite Activity
Having my imagination tweaked. A line, a curve, a conversation, a mess.

I paint and draw, sculpt and make music. I am also a filmmaker and am currently engaged in projects that involve both film and live music performance. Working with other people is great, and I like how things may go in all manner of directions and surprises.

"Art Doctors is a brilliant way of encouraging everyone to be creative, be a bit silly and not care too much about the results."
Favourite Activity
Putting on an Art Doctors coat and prescribing creativity to random people. It allows me to have conversations about all sorts of things that I wouldn’t normally have. It’s great!

I am a cartoonist who uses pictures to make things easier to understand. I also make animations, write stuff and sometimes perform. I encourage others to be creative, and am currently working on an oral history project in Leeds with Leeds Older People’s Forum.
