We teamed up with Thackray's Emergency Museum (a vintage ambulance that was touring around Leeds while the museum was being refurbished) to prescribe creative activities at the Kirkstall Festival in Leeds.
We had some great conversations with families (children are so good at encouraging their parents to be creative!) and a particularly moving experience with a man whose wife was in hospital with terminal cancer and who was now going to take photos of some of the unexpected beauty he found in the hospital so that he could show and talk to her about it while she was awake.
Though unfortunately curtailed by COVID lockdowns, we’ll be continuing to work with the Thackray Museum of Medicine when things return to normal.
