Wouldn't it be great if art galleries designed Art Trails for adults as well as children, creating playful ways to engage with and make your own sense of the work. At The Tetley we got the chance to do exactly that!
We initially delivered workshops designed to develop engagement activities for Justin Fitzpatrick's Alpha Salad exhibition. The activities were inspired by the participants' responses and interpretations of the exhibition, exploring ideas of life cycles and planting seeds, growth, renewal, beginning and endings. We then worked together to develop them into activities that anyone could take part in.
The group became Art Doctors for a special event where they guided visitors through the activities, creating collaborative doodles, poems, human sculptures and asking lots of stupid questions.
The good people at The Tetley made this film so that more people could have a go.
