Left Coast in Blackpool asked us to bring some creative fun to a meeting where community members were being asked about what they wanted to see developed locally.
We made banners and flags together, had a mini parade, and then sent everyone off with creative interventions to try at home.
Even though many people weren't initially comfortable with making, the combination of very simple making and talking made discussions about potentially contentious issues a lot smoother. We think this is because the togetherness of collaborative making creates at atmosphere where differences in opinion are easier to navigate.
